Last year I had a very fat toad that would regularly turn up outside my back door. This year he has turned up but was really thin (assuming it is the same one!). Would a toad that has gone through the winter be so thin and just need feeding up or could it be something else?
It's not always easy to hug a hedgehog.
But that doesn't mean you shouldn't.
i would say last year could well have been a female and this year a male as femals tend to be larger than males.
I had thought that but the toad is still 'big' but very thin.Maybe a female who has laid her eggs. Will go and search the ponds for any signs!
Any other suggestions welcome!
