Hi All
One of my Robins has started taking 3-4 mealworms at a time today and flying off with them in his beak, he has done it 3 times today, and I was wondering if it is too soon for the eggs to have hatched. Before today he was a regular feeder but only took one and ate it himself.

Hi Chez and everyone,
One of the robins from my pair has started to come and eat a couple of meal worms for himself and then takes a beak full away to the same place then comes back to repeat the process until all the meal worms have gone and then he does the same with any other food that I have offered. I'm sure he must be doing this to feed babies, he's really on a mission and same as in your case, before this behaviour he never used to fly off with food, he would stay and eat. He did feed his partner at times starting about late january, giving the odd sunflower heart (this looks brilliant doesn't it) but this was always played out around the feeders and our garden
