Hello everyone,
I have 3 regular robins, who were spending much of the day in the garden, squabbling and using the feeders and fat tubs, singing from the shed roof and generally visible all day. Now I am reduced to one, who is nervous and hides near the bushes or is missing altogether. He isn't using any of my feeders or fat tub, although he does pick up bits from the ground.
Is this usual at this time of year, or has something gone wrong with my robins?
Cheers, Linda.

I have two robins that seem to have paired up and very sweetly get seeds for each other from the ground feeder. My third robin still skulks in the bushes but usually visits all the feeders on each visit to the garden, and especially fond of the sunflower hearts at the moment.

I've learned that I still have a lot to learn...

Hi Brambles67
I still have about five robins in my garden, i think they are paired.
well all but one would you like me to tell him/her about your odd one ?
Hey farmer, farmer, put away the D.D.T now. Give me spots on my apples, but leave me the birds and the bees, please!
Hi Linda,
have two of them paired and left you with a billy-no-mates? Poor little thing. Maybe he's just lost his nerve.
Its vary rare I get one Robin let alone two, I don't seem to be their favourite garden. But today the fatter one of the two was back, having a good look around the guardian feeder.
Hope all turns out right with your Robin(s) :o)
If two have paired and left little Billy No Mates, where are the 2 who have paired? Even if they are nesting they need to eat.
Forgive me for being a bit thick there, it is getting late afterall LOL.
I would have come out with something profound and clever then about territory etc, but I don't really know what I'm talking about! Especially since if Billy No Mates has sent them on the way, therefore more dominant, wouldn't he have got the girl?
Think I'll shut up now, sorry Linda!
Don't worry they will be back, they are not going to look a gift feeder in the mouth !!!
