Snow damage to habitat?

Out the back of my garden is a large area ( approx 1 acre) completely covered with brambles. This has been a haven for birds and mammals both as cover and nest sites. In this Winter the heavy snow has flattened the whole area to about 2 ft from 8 ft high. Has anyone else observed this happening in their area.?

This world is not ours but only in trust for future generations.

  • Hi

Can't say I have seen it near me but the area at the back of our house is mainly trees with thick brambles growing underneath so I think they might have been more sheltered.

The birds should cope as long as they are not over 2' high.   ha ha ha
