Here is a picture of "Punky" one of my blue tits, he has lost most of his feathers on the top of his head - if you look very closely you can see just a couple of fluffy feathers sticking up. He is a real character, he flies to my hand for a mealworm but always chickens out about 2 inches away - One day hey ho
You have no control over what life & people throw at you - but you have full control over how you deal with it!

Sorry Chez, I still can't see your pictures.
Cheers, Linda.

Oh poor little thing. My feed never lasts long enough to get mites and trays are washed every week, but I should check the hanging seed feeders more after reading this
Of all creatures, man is the most detestable, he is the only creature that inflicts pain for sport, knowing it to be pain. ~ Mark Twain
Oh dear little Punky! Bless him, I want to knit him a little hat!
Is he managing to live his life un-fussed by his predicament?
You can really get a sense of just how tiny birds are without the bulk of their feathers when you see them in such a state.
Thanks for sharing this picture :)
Wow, I never had any idea just how small their heads were.
I would not have even recognised him as a blue tit. But I would like to see him in a little knitted hat...!!

Hi Chez, he is such a sweety. Thanks for sharing him and I do hope he will, one day, be brave enough to take the mealworms from your hand.
The necessity of bird-watching is a really good reason for avoiding all forms of housework.
The dust will still be there tomorrow - the birds may not be!
Unfortunately I can't see the pictures either. I do know Tech staff are looking into this for us. fingers crossed it'll be sorted asap. Anywho, heres a few examples of the images we've had sent in to Wildlife Enquiries (hope you can see them!)
I now can't see Punky but I can see yours Lloyd! I have seen the top photo before on here but the second photo is a new one to me. Poor chaps - it does look a very distressing and painful condition for them.
I still can't see Punky, but I can see the poor blackbirds. What a shame. I agree with Squirrel, it does look uncomfortable and painful.
I haven't caught sight of Punky yet and I do find the blackbird pictures distressing, in that we can do nothing to help the poor birds.
