I am in a few frames of mind what containers (air-tight ) are the best to keep my bird food for storage purposes. We move around a bit so it makes it easier to transport bird food without any accidents occurring.
I have a few of the storage boxes you put cereal in (quite robust plastic boxes like the old fashioned tupperware containers)
I also keep the RSPB 'Mealworm' containers and store suet sprinkles in those.
Just simply to prolong the life of bird food so it does not get damp at all.
What idea/tips do you have, and would like to share here?

I find the large 2.5ltr sealable buckets that suet bites come in are ideal. Good strong lids and a handle and they stack safely.

Mines the same as Birdwatchers, Suet pellet Buckets and an empty Mealworm Bucket, they do work well, and stack nice and neatly like Birdwatcher said.
There is a sufficiency in the world for man's need but not for man's greed.
I also use my buckets/tubs that the mealworms and suet pellets come in, but struggle with large sacks of seed. I keep it in the sacks in my utility room alongside the sacks of dog food. I really should get some dustbin sized bins so I can keep the seed in those, but never seem to get round to it. I never seem to have any long enough for it to go off or mouldy or damp.

I have two bins with lids, between bucket and dustbin size so they are not too heavy and two mealworm containers to store mine in, and they are in my garage.

Hi Blackbird if you know a friendly dairy farmer the tubs that hold about 20kgs of dairy cleaning powder which we use have a sealable lid if you want to and hold all our different types of bird food,perhaps get a freebie even as they get several over a period of time.Good luck.

Nature Is Amazing - Let Us Keep It That Way
We use plastic dustbin for seed and 2.5 sealable buckets for everything else.
A flip-top kitchen bin to hold the 17.5kgs sack of wildbird seed and then all the mmealworm tubs, Thistle seedpacks, suet etc etc in snap lid tubs on top .
Just put up new feeding station today in the new garden so hope we get some "customers" tomorrow.

You may have to be patient if your crew are a suspicious lot. Could take a while, but good luck with it.
Gosh there is such a lot of great ideas to work form here
The sealable buckets are good. I think I will save them up and use them instead of the tupperware which is prone to falling apart (the lid and the body part I mean)
The stacking idea sounds good too even in a wheely bin
Other ideas will be taken on board too.
Again the farmers unwanted tubs sound a great idea too!
