Can you tell the difference between a male and female Barn Owl?
Apparently this is a female (not taken by me)

Hi Hawkbuzzard,
the male Barn Owl typically lacks or has fewer spots on the breast and underwing coverts than the female.
The male also has a pale band on his neck and is somewhat paler on the upperparts.
But you will need other characteristics as many birds overlap, so sexing can be difficult!
Have a look at this link, on ageing and sexing.
