Snaring of Crows in Lincolnshire

Does anyone know why Crows are being captured in what appears to be a one-way trap cage on farmland in Lincolnshire.  Very distressing sight & sounds.

World of difference between spring traps which are completely illegal and larsen traps completely legal when used correctly also target different species.

I was merely answering the original question by copying and pasting text directly from the RSPB page on the subject. I wasn't speculating about what sort of trap it might be, nor expressing any point of view, on whether it was legal or not.

    Best wishes Chris

Surely this cannot be right..... the birds don't appear to have any perching facilities, food or water.  The cage is situated in the corner of a field in full public view, adjacent to a public footpath & road.  I didn't think it was legal to capture them in this manner - the distress caused to them is not pleasant.  It is hard to believe that you are expected to turn a blind eye to this....

I had to resign from my bowling club in glasgow as the committee allowed the trapping of magpies in order to protect both bowling greens. THe trapping of magpies is disgusting and has no place in the grounds of a bowling green however, the committee have been bullied into this by a member with the nickname the hunter. He said the use of larsson traps was to conserve the songbirds, what a load of nonsense, it is to meet his own needs, this character just loves killing animals. Not so long ago he was using traps to catch foxes and ended up trapping a local cat, goodness knows what else he has trapped.

The sooner our government outlaw the use of traps the better, it is one barbaric practice and should be stopped as soon as possible. Just give a thought to the your magpie fledglings waiting for their parents to return home but never do as they have been trapped and killed by clowns that just love killing. These fledglings die a long and slow death.

has anyone else experienced the use of traps at a bowling club????
