(OCTOBER 2024 HATCHES - session starts on PAGE 23)
2022-23 season's thread
One of the 3 eggs did not hatch. KATE gathered this info for us:
SunnyKate23 Jan 2023 4:24 PMUPDATE
NEWS 29th December 2022 The egg was removed and I 'candled' it with a torch. The egg has a slight leak through a small crack, but is otherwise intact. Despite using a very strong LED torch, I could see nothing, so I think the eggshell is too thick. It may be that the chick simply could not emerge. I'll offer it to the Australian Museum.
Two chicks fledged: Indigo and Rubus, both males. Indigo, the elder, was last seen on 18 March when Diamond blocked his entry to the nest box. Rubus fledged @ 46 days but died 9 days later, the result of a flying accident.

NEWS 21st November Ref Cilla NSW
6.59 am Yira (almost certainly) seen this morning flying through the trees below ledge cam.
Latest info, sorry no vid . doh!!! ( see how much you are missed dear Scylla.
NEWS 27th November Yira has been seen several times via cams, including a likely prey transfer on 25th November (spotted by Moka) and a few chases, plus two rather clumsy landings on the tower slope. She's only been seen once on the ground (by myself on 19/11 in Girinyalanha), but we know she is around and doing well.

04 December (Oz)
Checking Chat, I see that Xav injured his foot or leg a couple of days ago, they don't know how. So I just recorded this snippet from rollback - I'm gonna look such a fool if this is Diamond!
Not having very good luck this year, he looks well crippled
Aw poor soul, hope the foot recovers and he wilk be okay, it looked a bit swollen?
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Seems to have recovered this morning , has been in and out of box , no problem and returned with a fat juicy cicaida.
Cillas update
NEWS 6th December Unfortunately, it would seem that Yira must have had a flying accident or mishap as she hasn't been for over a week and that's very unusual as fledgelings are very active and noisy at this age. I would expect to see her daily, chasing her parents for food and that hasn't been observed recently. I'll still keep an eye out for her in case she's using different roost trees, but I don't hold up much hope at this stage. There are some videos of her (we think) flying on the youtube channel.
Oh no , this is so sad, after what appened to the sibling
