In 2022, four Barn Owlets, deemed to be 3 females and 1 male (the youngest), successfully fledged.
Here they are at their ringing day on 7.7.22
Hopefully, the resident pair will successfully breed in the nest box again this season.
21:00 ENS There are a couple of posts/pics on the chat (7pm) stating that the female brought in prey and stashed it under the cam (front right), hidden from view. I don't know whether it is still there or it has been taken. Pic copied over
Ahh, the female has just arrived. Is that a pellet or the prey which has now come into view (the 'item' was there when ENS)
Female is still waiting and calling on occasion
No visits from the male as yet. Female is having a little snooze
Female called then went to the back of the box. The male came in and they mated. He left straight away
The female has collected the prey she stashed earlier and is eating
Time for an after dinner nap
Signing off now. Goodnight
Good morning :)
Edit: It was ENS at 7:16
The female came into the box a short time ago
Waiting...
She's still in and waiting
Goodnight.
I was just going to sign off after the box being empty all evening when, very surprisingly, the male paid a quick visit. He stood in the same place for a couple of minutes, just looking around
Then he left
Great to see him :)
A brief visit by the female!
