In 2022, four Barn Owlets, deemed to be 3 females and 1 male (the youngest), successfully fledged.
Here they are at their ringing day on 7.7.22
Hopefully, the resident pair will successfully breed in the nest box again this season.
I'm going to take a break from my laptop for a little while. Will keep a check on the cam on my phone
Back in and looks like she's been hunting - grass attached to her feathers!
23:00 She's gone out again!
HE'S BACK!!!!
Female in and calling
She headed to the back of the box and lay down low in anticipation. Our male came in and they mated!
So wonderful to see you!
The usual preening session from the female
She had left
Additional pics as promised
I thought she was going to exit the box
It was clear to see, while I was watching, how the female's demeanor completely changed when the resident male came into the box - just great to witness!
Just arrived
Beautiful girl
She was calling - yep, he heard her! Mating :)
He left
Scraping at the flooring
Breaking up a pellet
About to exit the box
I'm taking a quick break from my laptop. BFN
I did see her but couldn't get any vid capture at the time! Maybe there'll be eggs soon?
