Brighton peregrines 2022

Despite the cameras taking a beating, impending building works and all manner of problems last year, the falcons atop Sussex Heights on Brighton seafront have three chicks this year from a clutch of four. They're about a week old, I think, at the time of writing. Thought I'd share this cute screenshot anyway.

I haven't worked out whether this is the 'regular' female (who flew into a building last year and needed time out to recover with the help of local experts) or a new bird. There used to be a Facebook feed dedicated to them but I cannot find it just now.

Anyway, the cameras aren't as high-res as Chichester's -- and one of them is dangling upside down and pointing at the traffic after last winter's storms -- but they do provide a very intimate view of happenings as they happen: https://sussexheights.co.uk/sussex-heights-brighton-peregrine-falcons-nestbox-camera
