I've seen wood pigeons on many occasions get very vicious.when they go on the attack. I witnessed a wood pigeon attacking another back in April 220, the action was caught on the garden trailcam.
Later that day we saw the attacked wood pigeon, easily identifiable by the plumage attack point, dead in the garden.
It could have been a weak wood pigeon, or it could have been territorial stuff, either way, it was vicious. I think the attack went on for quite a long time, though I only kept one video, which you can see on the following link to my Flickr page.
