As with the 2020 season, barn owls did not use the box for breeding in 2021, will this year be different?

Mating, to strengthen their bond, then he exited the box
Morning shuffle.
She just lifts and exits for a comfort break. and there is that egg with the black mark showing., and then she soon back.

and is this the unviable egg? or will it be tucked in ...
not sure if she just turning or what..
Gorgeous pics, Kate, thank you! She''s such a beauty
These from 20:00 onwards.
The male was in, preening
He turned quickly to look towards the exit
I stepped away from the cam and returned to see him backed into the corner
Female pulling at his feathers
Awww.....
She began to rise from the eggs
A brief lull in activity
Then back to it
TBC
Cont'd
The female went back to her eggs
Mating
He went back to the corner
He had left the box when I next checked the cam
The female changed her position
Uh-oh
The egg is still out from the clutch
She stood up to preen
Went back to the eggs
As she settled, she took this bit of white 'whatever it is' out from under her
Male came in with a small prey offering. He dropped it at her side as she didn't take it from him
Mating then he left the box
The female moved it away. Not hungry so has possibly already eaten this evening?
She's since had a scrape within that area and I can't see the prey (unless she had eaten it when I was posting on here! lol)
