This lovely raven pair have set up home at a Byko store in Selfoss, Iceland! Aren't they beautiful?
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
Thanks, Wendy! The Wellesley raven nest gave us a good idea of the sounds, especially after the ravenets arrived!. Just now mom was sitting and is now standing to preen before sitting back down. It has been about 10 days since she apparently laid her first egg.

Now about 2 weeks since she laid the first egg. If there is any hatching, it should be around 3 weeks incubation time. She is still stuck on the eggs at the moment.
Thanks for update CC

Show how much further north and west this nest is from Loch Garten, where the night cam has just come on:
Looks like it's finally getting dark here:
Apparently they work to GMT, but they don't do the 'putting the clocks forward' thing that we do here so they are currently an hour behind us.
The night cam is now on:
Looks like a reasonable morning in south-west Iceland:
This is the ravens' fifth season nesting here - apparently they are on good terms with the staff, greeting them on arrival and when they leave off! Awwwwwww.
There's been some to-ing and fro-ing this morning but it's impossible for me to tell which bird is which. It would be nice to see them at the same time.
Tried and failed to capture the raven returning to the nest:
They are very quick!
Gotcha!
