Just been reading bad news on blog, hope owlets will be rescued if parents don't turn up!
Wendy which Blog? I saw Chat discussing pro's and con's
Such a shame as they are such a loving couple, when together, maybe like some humans, they are not suited or want to raise a family, prefer just themselves.
I called chat blog Kate! Would think it more likely that bad weather could have caused a tragedy ... see that one of the posters has spoken with DWT about getting a message to LM Warden!
Thats OK , thought you had xray eyes for a BLOG info CHOL:):)
Very sad situation here, this morning, there was definitely adult on the tray hissing, DWT have responded that they are taking advice, but as we all know we are privileged to be watching WILDLIFE in action,
The eldest Chick just found and slowly ate a WHOLE vole ...
Oh dear will this prolong the dreadful agony, what could have happened to Adults, Wet and caught out in the storms?
Don't know if the adults have been back or not today. No adults in the box at the moment. At least two chicks are still alive, not sure if there are others.
Kind regards, Ann
Chat says Dad is around & bringing in food & offering it whole but of course no idea how to rip it up to feed them!
Thanks
Littlest one was motionless outside of huddle for some time, but eventually moved back in.
Have seen FOUR heads moving and eldest preening , and can hear Dad hissing.
The Two strongest
Thanks Wendy and Kate for the information. At least Dad is still around. Since the biggest chick is able to eat whole food, perhaps that one has a chance to survive. Finger crossed.
Sadly DWT report finding the remains a female owl, and Chat mentioned earlier that the tiniest would appear to have succumbed.
Dad is still dropping food, we will have to wait and see if he will continue.
I totally agree with DWT of no intervention, it must be very, soul destroying ,for them to have to keep batting away unhelpful comments.
