*** 2017 *** Happy New Year !!!
Welcome to our little group following the Cornish Barn Owls, hoping for a successful season in 2017.
We have a couple (female ringed) getting to know each other, no mating yet (that we have seen).
There was a visit to the barn earlier, didn't stay long, floated out stage right:
Techie note for newbies:
The barn cam is still badgering a lot and while it's not the stream is still on-off-on-off - the intermittent sound being the telltale - and there's a huge, variable lag on it.
IMAGICAT
Good morning all :)
8:17 Going by the amount of fluff still on the owlet on the left - #3. It revealed some stored prey items once it joined #2 and #1
8:31
9:22 Lol, they spent a couple of minutes watching a fly! :D

17:50 Oooh, #2 flapped its way up to the top of the box! #1 on the tray; #3 resting in the box
17:57 #2 almost glided up to the top this time
17:59 I love the look of #1 at the pop hole :)
18:11 #1 took one step to many and fell off the tray and disappeared. Luckily, I've seen it fly to the left side, behind the box!
18:16 #1 back on the beam
21:25 All three in the barn. #1 arrowed
21:30 #1 and #2 on the box.
21:32 #3 - picture of innocence...
...then it attacked the cam!
21:32 #2 and #3 on top of the box; headlights of #1
21:52 Just look where #1 flew up to!
22:03 Delivery to either #2 or #3 - downed immediately.
Again, great pics - thanks all. I am assuming - not long now before they leave the nest? I watched earlier today, to see No.2 (I assume) intrigued by No.1 flying around the barn - and himself/herself flapping wings. I haven't seen him/her flying yet?
Hi Jassy,
Yes, it was #2 with its older sibling today. I don't think it will be long before it's flying around the barn too. :)
23:20 Delivery which was brought into the box (#3). Prey left on the flooring.
00:07 'Waste not, want not' as the saying goes. #2 came in and ate the spare prey
00:15 Delivery to #1 on the tray (it had come into the box but jumped up to the pop hole when it heard an adult)
00:18 3 prey drops. I don't think the owlets are too hungry this evening after eating last night's deliveries throughout the day. Goodnight ladies :)
8:25 Only one (#1) in the box? Barn empty.
8:40 #1 is hiding another owlet, just saw/heard movement.
8:46 Two owlets
8:57 The third made an appearance. It produced a rather large pellet! :D
8:58 Voices close to the barn brought the hidden owlet into view.
Thank goodness for that, my heart can stop racing now! lol :D
Love them all thank yooooo.
Is this first year we have seen them up in the rafters and on the rope end wall? or is my memory playing up again?
Some appealing activity captured on my Nexus this morning ...
