*** 2017 *** Happy New Year !!!
Welcome to our little group following the Cornish Barn Owls, hoping for a successful season in 2017.
We have a couple (female ringed) getting to know each other, no mating yet (that we have seen).
There was a visit to the barn earlier, didn't stay long, floated out stage right:
Techie note for newbies:
The barn cam is still badgering a lot and while it's not the stream is still on-off-on-off - the intermittent sound being the telltale - and there's a huge, variable lag on it.
IMAGICAT
Hi Kate, thank you - I'm receiving both cams loud and clear now :)
15:48 The female was in the box breaking up pellets. (Sorry about the slight blur on the scap, she was just about to launch one across the flooring!) :D
16:10 Both now on the back beam
good cap that CHOL:):)
forgot the cap as you said both on back, here they are hiding...
17:08 Female came back into the box
18:29 Mating. Unfortunately, I missed the scap of him dismounting her. He stood on her back and launched himself up to the pop hole - how very 'un-gentlemanly'! lol
18:40 Female still rasping, male on the pop hole.
18:52 Both have left the barn
20:43 One on the back beam
20:47 Female calling in the box
20:48 Off she went
23:07 Female was on the tray for a brief moment before leaving
Morning Sandra good caps againxxx
One in one out...
Morning Kate :)
Still the same scenario as your post.
7:55 Male came into the box, her calls became more intense. He thought about it - but no mating occurred!
Male statue preening while mam dozes.
19:27 One on the back beam
20:04 After disappearing from the barn, the male returned and went into the box. He scraped at the flooring and moved/broke up some pellets before leaving at 20:06
21:28 Female landed on the tray and then entered the box. She had a bit of a look around before leaving the box and barn at 21:30
