No - I think it's just the one that has a naked spot on the sides of its neck. The rest of them have gray down inside there. Strange.
CC, they look wonderful even if one has a naked spot! Thank you for all of your updates on these lovely birds - Wellesley must be very proud of its eight young ravens and their parents.
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
Hi Clare! It is actually just 4 chicks this year from 5 eggs, and I think just two? from last year - I have to check again. I can't remember. They do grow fast! You were away recently, I think I read earlier, yes?
Sleeping beauties.
Another arrangement later.

I had a lovely long weekend in Germany - I had a great time!
Oh, thanks for letting me know Clare! Then it IS 8 chicks total. Wonderful! Right now they are just starting to rouse from a night sleep, having just been awake but "sleeping in" for a while. :)
Pauline, dwarfed by her enormous chicks, digs in the nest bed.
I love these patterns of the bodies!
One is already hanging around just on the outer edge of the nest. See the poo on the back window!
