I'm very happy to say that the stunning pair of ravens who built a nest on a fire escape at Wellesley College last year have returned for a second season! They are incubating three eggs.
Feast your eyes on this:
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
Yay! Thanks for that, Diane, I just wanted to be sure they were both OK.
Yeah! Here they both are:
I saw movement from two chicks - has a third safely hatched?
Awwww! We've just had a tit on the nest!
Thanks for updates C & D, Mrs WR keeps them under wraps a lot doesn't she (only have the odd glimpse now & again)

Hi all --- I completely forgot about this forum! I just saw Pauline get up and fly off, so I took a video of the nestlings. There are indeed three. #1 is on the far left, #2 is on the far right and #3 is almost undetectable between/under the two until it manages to get its head up and beak open near the end!!!
I have seen both Henry and Pauline on the nest - not to worry! It will be interesting and noisy with those three younguns. Glad they have the sound turned down this season. :-P

YAY! Well done, CC, that's fantastic - let's hope all three make it to fledging.
Hi Clare, I hope so too! The size disaparity was alarming until I saw the size of the open beak on #3, even with the wobbly head and the bad timing. :-/ It was pretty big!
Here's the Three being fed.
Awwww. I can see three little bodies wriggling beneath their Mummy:
