I'm very happy to say that the stunning pair of ravens who built a nest on a fire escape at Wellesley College last year have returned for a second season! They are incubating three eggs.
Feast your eyes on this:
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
It looks like one of the ravenets has a tongue problem. What do you think?

Looks better here, but then I seemed to notice its beak may be crossed...
Certainly looks to be a problem CC, looking back at recent vids it seems ok ... Do you think it could have been damaged during feeding?

I cannot imagine how that could be. I watched more and saw it happen again, and the lil guy tried to get it back into his mouth again, with more success. :( Mom was watching closely - I was afriad she'd think it was a worm and try to pick it off, but she left it alone. :-/ Have to see if it is a constant issue...
I thought Mum was looking keenly too CC!
Hey WendyB! I just checked in to see if the youngun was having more troubles. They all look like they are resting comfortably waiting for the next meal! :)
That's how it was earlier when I went for a look - see!!
Had a quick peek as I was getting ready to shutdown tonight & saw this
Don't know if this is the same one, do they keep their positions in the nest? Was watching earlier & this one is always moving it's beak as if not comfortable!
Both cams appear to be down at the moment.
Back up:
The chicks are all huddling in the shade.
