Is it just me, or does anyone else think the Snowdrops and very few and far between this year so far. Green shoots in abundance but I'm not seeing many in flower yet. unusual

I know the weather was severe but it wasn't that bad - last time I looked out of our window Anglesey Abbey was still just beyond our village, in Cambridgeshire. Of course if the snowdrops have gone to Suffolk that may explain why they aren't showing much yet - its a bit of a walk for a snowdrop!

Hi Susan, over the last week my Snowdrops have started to show.
Hopefully I will get some photo's in the next couple of days. It's rained for the last three days, so no chance of using the camera!

Nature Is Amazing - Let Us Keep It That Way
Sorry, fittmonk - brainstorm scrambled the county boundaries. Of course it is Cambridgeshire! Can I blame a long week? I need a weekend...
Glad its not just here. A couple of weeks late makes sense given the amount of shoots being seen. Been panicking, snowdrops, to me always verify that all's well and the season will change soon even if we still have the freezing temps of Feb and March winds to encounter.
Snowdrops now out up here in Sunny Scotland!
Millie & Fly the Border Collies
Our snowdrops opened last weekend but now buried under the snow.
Snowdrops are just starting to open around here, one reason for the late flowering is that they only open their flower when the temp reaches 6c. They well not flower until the adv temp is 6c once the temp hits 6c they start to open. another ineresting fact about this little flower is that the leafs and bulb hold a kind of ani-freeze thats stops the bulb freezeing in very cold winters.
dont just look enjoy and leave for others to share after you. we dont own the earth we just rent a small part of it....
Just back from D&G and whilst they are out there,in our usual haunts, its nothing like the profusion we're used to. MIbby another week or so.
I've now got five snowdrops out but even more exciting ,for the first time this year I have had several yellow crocus out today. I did have more, until the sparrows saw them and nipped off their heads!! my fault for leaving them so close to the seed feeder, but there is enough left and in different areas of the garden that they will last a little while yet and more coming ~ lots of leaves anyway.
I also had a pair of collared doves today and the pied wagtails are in busy mode at present. The birds certainly seem to be indicating that spring is doing a little more than thinking about arriving! Wonderful.
As we move through the universe may we leave as light a touch as a butterfly wing on the fabric of the environment.
Lots of sonwdrops down here in North Devon but it has been milder here than other parts of the country this winter. Rubbish pic but happened to take it yesterday whilst walking the dog
I've learned that I still have a lot to learn...
