Is it just me, or does anyone else think the Snowdrops and very few and far between this year so far. Green shoots in abundance but I'm not seeing many in flower yet. unusual
Haven't noticed any appearing in the garden but there might be some emerging along the walkway, but I can't really tell until they flower lol
It could be the cold weather delaying their emergence a bit maybe?

We have lots in the garden, but the only ones open are in a very sheltered corner near where we park the car, so kept out of the cold wind a bit. We are in the North West, so I'm sure ours must come out much later than those of you who live in the South. (same as the daffodils do)
I too only have a small amount of snowdrops in the garden and seem to have far fewer flowers this year than last. I have exactly three at present nodding their little white heads, but I do usually have more than that by now.
Hope more emerge as the weather gears itself more into spring.
As we move through the universe may we leave as light a touch as a butterfly wing on the fabric of the environment.
No sign of any Snowdrops at all here {sad}
It will be nice when they emerge again.
Cheerful sign that spring is on its way.

I was interested to see this thread as I am sure I've got less snowdrops than I usually have by now. I've got one rather straggly one coming out where there is usually an early clump. Not much sign of the leaves, either. I'm going to keep a record this year so I can compare in future. I am hoping it's the cold weather and they will come out late.
The usual thousands are now starting to open at Attingham Park near Shrewsbury! I heard a lady from the Woodland Trust on the radio the other day saying that they were later this year...

Here at The Lodge we only have one small clump in flower so far - nestled close to the old house on a southerly aspect. I am sure the cold weather has slowed them down - according to Anglesey Abbey in Suffolk snowdrops are about two weeks behind schedule.
I planted some 50 bulbs in the front garden around 5-6 years ago. Only about half of those ever did anything and those that did have steadily decreased in number every year since! So much for bulbs naturalizing.....
The necessity of bird-watching is a really good reason for avoiding all forms of housework.
The dust will still be there tomorrow - the birds may not be!
This morning, I have noticed just a few have opened.
