After watching the item on wax wings, I now know that the 30 strong group of birds that I saw 2 weeks before Christmas in Birchington, East Kent, were definitely wax wings. they landed on a berry laden tree, stayed for 5 mins or so and then took off all together. It was an impressive sight and I just stood and watched them. Thanks Winterwatch for identifying the fascinating visitors for me.
