I have little buds appearing on my apple trees! Noticed them yesterday, won't be too long before they will be covered in flowers again! Hopefully I'll get some more apples from them this year too lol

Fabulous photo. Were it my tree I would put up a welcome sign as I would love to see a bullfinch!
The necessity of bird-watching is a really good reason for avoiding all forms of housework.
The dust will still be there tomorrow - the birds may not be!

Colour doesn't do them justice.
They ARE welcome. Today I had five in the tree, three males and two females. I love them and they are welcome to my very large flowering plum.
They invariably miss one or two buds ☺
They are NOT eating my damsons and apples though!!
How lovely! He can come and have a few of my buds anytime he likes. (OH might not be so happy of course!)
There is something new to learn everyday...

Our apple tree, which is not easily visible from the house, completely ignored the "apple" bit of its name last year. I wonder if I had bullfinches visit but didn't realise......

You'd know because they are eaten in situ and the husks round the flowers-to-be are discarded in little piles on the ground.
Many thanks for that information - I will keep a look out this year.
Wow he is lovely, he would be welcome in my apple tree, great photo dangerous!
Hey farmer, farmer, put away the D.D.T now. Give me spots on my apples, but leave me the birds and the bees, please!
He certainly is a beauty, Dangerous. Wonderful photo.
Cheers, Linda.

Lovely picture, Dangerous. We do get bullfinches here, as there are plenty of fruit farms around but I never tire of seeing them.
I have lived in my house for almost twenty years, and last weekend was the first time I saw a bullfinch in the garden. I was thrilled to bits.
