After leaving the glorious surrounds of Westonbirt behind, the Autumnwatch crew will be live from Slimbridge tonight bringing us footage of the migrant wildfowl that are currently arriving. We'll also be treated to footage from the teams trip to Islay as well as a feature on the secret seals of the south east!
Plus the usual updates about the week aheads weather will impact on the migratory bird movements and activities to get involved with this autumn.
We'll be tuning in, let us know what you think!
Warden Intern at Otmoor.
Wow, those common seals are just amazing, so close to such a busy area. Great footage of the raptors up on Islay as well, awesome!
Question, if whisky isn't MHG's drink what do you think is?
Hi Ian
MHG's drink maybe a Wine Spritzer - strike me as that type of guy
The Seals are something else and a pleasant change in the programme from the Deer and the Badgers.
Some of the Seal species lookd very healthy and happy.
The Seas that where realised back into the wild - best of luck to them
loved the Twites and the Hen Harries toniight, and the extra Merlin WOW
That's not a bad call! We were going for strawberry daquiri or cosmopolitan!
Great to see twites getting some good airtime, they're cracking little finches that are often overlooked. Merlins and hen harriers, I'm with Chris on them, though not sure about the thigh rubbing!
Some of the filming this week particularly Islay was some of the best in the series so far.For me to see my favourite raptor, the Merlin was spot on.

Birding is for everyone no matter how good or bad we are at it,enjoy it while you can

A daiquiri is currently my favourite cocktail as it happens:
35ml Bacardi, the juice of half a lime and a small spoon of caster sugar (or a little sugar syrup if you have it.). Shake everything in a shaker with plenty of ice. Delicious!!
I loved the raptor spectacular on Autumnwatch too. That male merlin was a great sight. I don't go so far as thigh rubbing like Chris though. :-)
Best wishes Chris

One of the better programmes in the series so far. Some great filming of the Twites and the Raptors. Best bits were the Twites bathing in the stream and the raptor flying upside down!

a good laugh is better than a tonic
This week we will be treated to stories from a gannet colony, an update on the Pitsea Landfill site foxes, swan action from Slimbridge and all of the usual features! I wonder what CP will be predicting in terms of migrants this week? Maybe some more woodcock...
Remember 8.30 BBC2 (Ray Mears on ITV1 at 8 pm as well!)
Loved Ray Mears but quite a dull AutumnWatch this week.
