3/3 The great rift valley, stretching from Egypt to Mozambique, provides the setting for an epic battle between grass and trees – its course influenced by volcanic eruptions, landscape and rainfall.
8.00pm BBC 2 Lambing Live
The presenters continue to get their hands dirty helping out the Marston family on their Cumbria hill farm.
11.05pm More 4 - Britain's Worst weather
Snow. Dr Nick Middleton investigates some of Britain’s extreme weather.

7.00pm BBC 2 David Attenborough’s First Life
In Canada’s rocky mountains, the naturalist finds evidence of an explosion in animal diversity never seen before or since, with the development of mobility and mouths helping to propel evolution.
Tonight Adam Henson gets a taste of a Drover’s life when he finds out how sheep once made the long journey to market on hoof.

As spring brings longmeadow to life Monty Don prepares for Summer by sowing calendulas and nasturtiums.

New Series. The comedian examines the way in which three colonies of these fascinating creatures exist alongside humans on narrow strip of land south of Cape Town.
Radio: Friday 8 April
Radio4 8.50pm - David Attenborough’s Life stories.
Today’s episode of this electric series is filled with names as iridescent as the delightful creatures to which they belong, all enunciated with obvious relish by Attenborough in his trademark rough-honey tones.

I have to admit (don't shout at me) that the thought of a programme called 'Lambing Live' had me reaching for the off button, but I have watched a bit of it (previews) and it looks very good :)
David Attenborough's programme is absolutely wonderful (of course). It must have taken YEARS to film. I'm so glad to see him again on the TV after threats of retirement.
It's good to see so many wildlife and nature progs being screened.

Thanks for the "heads up" on all of these programmes especially tonights about the Jurrasic Coast we as a family love it down there so watching it should bring back memories of holidays several years ago.
