Just seen the programme about the grizzly bear and various birds, my husband saw a loon on the telly and said he had never seen one before.

Blackbird, Excellent programme and loved it but can someone explain to me why when I watch this sort of programme it tends to make me doze off.
Just to add to the comment about Loons; don't forget these are the same birds as our great northern diver. Another example of one language dividing two nations.

Yes, the Tit family seem to be Titmice in the USA/Canada, yet Titmice are a species in their own right.
Chickadees would be called Tits in the UK
Did you know a group of 'Titmice' are called a 'areola'
