It's on Sky 3- I finally get to see this vaunted disaster:)
It looks truly dreadful-
Mrs Seymouraves says let me take them ALL on simultaneously :)

For advice about Birding, Identification, field guides, binoculars, scopes, tripods, etc - put 'Birding Tips' into the search box
I watched it this evening for the first time. Almost turned over as soon as the Corrie woman said "owls aren't birds", but out of some sick sense of curiosity I decided to watch 'till the end.
Wish I hadn't.

Having worked on 5 I don't think that'll be a problem

I was just grumbling to Mr aiki about this! Caught the tail end of it. I was so disappointed by the mis-ID, my crush on Bill Bailey has dimmed a little :(

I know... I have the thing about naming the birds that appear on TV to improve my ID, I suppose. And I said 'grey plover' but then they said 'golden plover' so I thought, well, I need to work on my IDs then, but it's them!!
'Dip a dee dah, dip a dee ay, we're not seeing any birds to-day...'
Hi-
ID of birds on films and TV progs is often hilariously bad ( I can't comment on animal ID) - Birds frequently change sex, age and even species ( especially raptors ).
Having watched a lot of science fiction I can tell you that Red tailed hawk occurs across the ( known Star Trek) universe and Common sandpiper is endemic to some ( Blakes 7 ) worlds.

Oh, indeed, I've observed many such howlers. But I had thought Bill B had a bit of a clue about birds :(
They should get Nigel Blackwell, the lead singer from Half Man Half Biscuit, to do the next one. His songs contain frequent accurate mentions of UK wildlife, as well as ferociously sarcastic remarks about celebrity culture :)
I've not watched any of this but have picked up the gist. It all sounds hilariously aweful.
BB is a very funny comedian with some 'right on' views. Why was he pushed into into this?
Aiki. You are SPOT ON!! Nigel Blackwell rules KO
Pip
Pipit, not sure that BB would be pushed into this surely he is doing it for the brass. The amount of stick the series has had on here makes me glad i've only seen the one episode.
Pete
Birding is for everyone no matter how good or bad we are at it,enjoy it while you can
We get Sky3 on Freeview too and I saw this on the programme index. I decided I didn't watch it and am now glad I didn't I And I can't even remember the names of the z-list 'celebs' who were going to be on it. It might have been amusing, but I think I'd probably have given up - a quarter of the way through.
December 21st is a great day - the sun starts to come back to us and spring is in the air!
Woo Hoo! Good news- Camilla Dallerup is on the show tonight !
Bad news- she'd never heard of a Gannet.
They have to digi-scope too - hehehehehe!
Also they said Gannet has 5 plumages- I counted 7 ( juv/ 1st W 2nd W , early 3rd W, late 3rd W, 4th W and Adult. not including chick.
:)
It's so bad it's gripping!
