Just about to watch it John.
Hilbre is a special place. I have been there a couple of times over the last 10 years. I have heard that the Worden is leaving the Island and will not be replaced. Is this true? Does that mean the bird ringing will not be carried out any more?
There are 9000 species of bird on earth. Let's keep it that way.
What a great sight all those waders and seabirds were. You are lucky to live so near
Of all creatures, man is the most detestable, he is the only creature that inflicts pain for sport, knowing it to be pain. ~ Mark Twain
I wished they had shown more John. They barely touched the surface or showed what it is like to be on Hilbre. I am always grateful that I was born there and was so used to seeing the thousands of waders and able to ID them at a young age. I can't wait to be up there in March to visit my sister.
Hi Brenda,
Very Very disappointed, did not show anything about Hilbre or anything else about the coast line,it did not show Matt even on Hilbre. Not very happy.
Thanks to all who replyied to this post.
Yes Budgie, the Warden is going and so far there is no one to take over,
And yes Judi it great to see all the waders, pity they did not show more of them.this place is now a special International area for bird and wildlife.
