Hi there
This programme is on this coming Friday http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00wwbm4 Three Quarters of British butterflies are in decline, and as they are so beautiful they are seen in artistic ways and are loved for their beauty.
I will be out sttending a Xmas meal this Frieday night so I will see it after I come back after the weekend.
Love to hear what others say about the programme
Regards

hi kathy thanks for the heads up, i have a 'friend' (someone i see when birding/dog walking) & last year managed to photograph every species except one! how frustrating is that?! incredible achievement anyway though id say. she is like our aiki, she seems to know everything & you should see her pictures! i looked at her flickr pics & was almost too embarassed to show her mine but she was really nice about them! paul
hi Paul
Great news about your friend, and it shows how keen we get on a subject and we will go to the ends of the earth to achieve a 'tick' of a species.
Once we are on a mission nothing and no-one stops us form our wildlife searches.
I would not worry about your photos - no two people are ever on the same level with photography and a lot of it is learning, and have the right optics to achieve results.
What a superb programme and a fabulous array of butterflies to enjoy. Well worth a watch! They do have some 'bizarre' habits which I knew never existed. The Large Blue butterfly using Ants colonies to take care of their young etc.. I loved the very hairy 'Mountain Ringlet' - never heard of one before. It was one of the hairiest Butterfly I have ever seen. mind you in the cold Scottish climate it needs to keep warm. Just a programme which left me on a high. and a lot wiser for the experience. Note: There is only 2-3 days left on I-player now! Regards Kathy and Dave
