Vote for your favourite wildlife presenter - just for fun!

With all of the brilliant wildlife programmes on TV at the moment we thought it would be a great time to run a poll on who is everyones favourite wildlife presenter! The options below are eleven of the regulars that have appeared recently on our screens.

We know there are lots more out there that we could have included, feel free to sing their praises as well!

Please keep the comments positive and feel free to vote on whatever criteria you see fit, be it knowledge of poo, how they look as nature intended (for the Iolo fans out there!) or simply on their enthusiasm for wildlife!

  • Hi folks!

Well it looks like Sir David is taking this lead on this poll, with Simon King in a keen second place. Keep those votes coming and don't forget to keep your comments positive, its keeps this thread frun and more importantly leaves more room for singing the praises of the presenters you really love!

  • The poll has now ended and Sir David Attenborough came out on top with the lions share of the votes!

Thank you for all you kind words and for taking the time to vote on the poll, isn't it great that we have all these wonderful presenters getting lots of coverage in the media at the moment!

Lets hope that we continue to see a range of wildlife based shows on our screens and well done to all the presenters for making wildlife shows entertaining and informative!

By the way, we're going to run another poll later this week so stay tuned!

    Hi Ian

As things are now, it is Sir David Attenbrough for me

I have met him face to face many years ago, and attended a lecture from him at the Usher Hall in Edinburgh.  I have never forgot his love for his subject.

If you where to say where in the future with the next 'generation' wildlife presenter - Chris Packan does it for me, and of course Kate Humble/Simon King too

    Regards

    Kathy and Dave

  • Yeah, I think Chris and people are one who's going to lead the future - some people like Bill Oddie and Sir David Attenborough are great, but maybe it's time for more younger(sorry!) people to take over the job. NOT that I am critisizing them for being old or anything, but you know what I mean!

    Hi Maple

Yes, it is that time now for some of the younger presenters to step in.

I feel that David made his last TV series of 'First Life' recently to complete his Wildlife trilogy. It feels although this is him saying that he has completed all of his wildlife TV and he wants to back down with his dignity intact now - and take life at a steadier pace.

With Bill Oddie that I cannot see him doing much on TV now. He is suited to programmes on his own and He is not good in a partnership with another presenter. He is very good at presenting on his own-some IMHO. Just the type of personality he is.

Yes, the younger presenter are juggling for the next 'Sir' in the wildlife world and I wonder who it will be in the near future. There are so many to choose from now where do we begin.

    Regards

    Kathy and Dave

  • Yes, some people are wondering who would be the next big presenter, but I personally feel that there can never be somebody as great as Sir David - he is the one and only and nobody can ever replace him. Such a shame that I didn't manage to get a ticket for his talk on birds of paradise!

I'm really glad Sir David won the poll. It is a small tribute to his outstanding contribution.

I can't think of anyone who could fill his shoes to be honest. We do have many fine presenters who will go on to make a name for themselves, but he stands alone.

I know he is now in his 80s, but he's not finished yet. I do hope he feels able to continue for a little while longer.

    Cheers

well done sir david you deserve it. best regards mac

  • Sir David seems to be devoting more and more of his time in educating people in the dangers of climate change. He admits that he didn't take it seriously and was a sceptic himself at first but obviously changed his mind..
