Thanks for the reminder Pipit!!
Bramble sorry don't read this as I'm v happy to find any excuse not to watch the apprentice!! Sorry - Think I might be alone on this one.

Excuse wobbily dyslexic spelling!
Now Pipit see what happens when you say 'on now' - cleared the other 1/2 of the community to watch nos9!!Lol!!

I'm with you too with the Appentice,
I'll catch up with Birds Britannia repeat tomorrow night,
Wow!
I won't spoil it for all you apprentices, but what a sobering, thought-provoking series that was.
Lovely to have Bill Oddie, Tony Soper and Desmond Morris all in the same programme.
I'm even more convinced I'm going Organic!!!!
Pipit
I think we can safely assume where they lay the blame!
"IT IS SAID THAT LIFE FLASHES BEFORE YOUR EYES BEFORE YOU DIE. THAT IS TRUE, IT'S CALLED LIVING."Death - Terry Pratchett (The Last Continent).
OK so it was just you + me watching BB!! Really good + a def watch again as there was so much going on!!
As for organic- have been since we moved, my Mum dispairs, (daughter of a farmer, born in the 40's, Gran hated to see set aside - farmed through the war when it was so different as explained in the prgramme) + would love me to use a systemic on occasions - doc, nettles etc but 5yrs in the spring + I've resisted so far!!

Hard for those left tilling the earth with a fraction of the work force, as the majority of farm hands were called up to serve. Not only the men but they lost the horses from the fields, to pull guns or carry officers. Yet much much more food was required as the convoys from, esp USA were so badly affected, targetted. Necessity is the mother of invention!! The weed killers were a solution with horiffic consequences, we are still paying for, then, as yet unknown!! War has a knock on effects way beyond the dates it occurs :-(
I suppose it was the solution of its time. Horrific to see the dying birds and the HUGE statistics of decline.
But, on a happier note, didn't you just love the extract from the film 'Tawny Pipit'.
