Well, you could have knocked me down with a tiny breast feather. Two swallows, wire sitting, on 21st April, in Worcestershire. And I haven't even heard a cuckoo yet. They obviously got the message it was time to leave Africa, but I hope they don't get caught in a sudden cold snap.

Here in Scotland South we have at least a dozen House Martins and Swallows skimming the lake water this morning. The first I saw early last week. The best sight of Spring. I also had bats around for a few nights this week.
Living the dream.
A wonderful sight. Seems all the birds are keen to get going after the harsh winter
Of all creatures, man is the most detestable, he is the only creature that inflicts pain for sport, knowing it to be pain. ~ Mark Twain
Saw my first Swallow last Saturday flying over the river. Since then we have had a fair few more come in. and held one for the very first time a couple of days ago.
Just waiting on the Swifts to get here. I love to hear them screaming at each other as they fly over the rooftops.
Cheers

We saw dozens of swallows in Anglesey on 18th April. They were everywhere. I saw my first small group here in Lancashire yesterday, 30th April.
Cheers, Linda.
