The only real sign of spring for me so far has been putting the clocks forward last weekend!
I'd usually class myslef a winter person, but even i am sick of the cold weather. Spring?? Bring it on I say.
Ladybird
Why is there never enough time?
Couldn't agree more, Ladybird, think winter seems to have dragged on forever! Really ready for spring (and then summer!) now, I'm sick of icy cold winds and generally being cold.
Hi Laydbird
I agree - bring on the sun!! The trees and shrubs are barely sprouting and my poor clematis started to show a few green shoots but the wind this last few days has blackened them all, I expect it will grow again when it gets warmer.
On Thursday I went to collect the eggs from the hen & duck houses in the pouring rain and with a gale blowing, we have very heavy clay on the grassy areas and it is like a skating rink!! I put the eggs in my pocket while I filled the duck house up with more straw - well Torville & Dean would have been proud of me - I think I did a triple salco, one leg in the air and arms like a flippin' windmill when the wind blew the door of the duck hut and yes you guessed it - I ended up with a pocket of scrambled eggs!! I wanted to jump up and down and scream I was so mad but didn't as I would have probably done the splits!!
Oh yes roll on summer --please!!
Chez
You have no control over what life & people throw at you - but you have full control over how you deal with it!
I'm not usually pining for summer, my husband is the one for that and it's me trying to keep him positive and pointing out all the benefits and beauty of cold, clear mornings etc. But this year I'm fresh out of optimism. We went to Old Moor RSPB reserve today and I decided not to take my gloves, it is April after all. What a mistake that was! My hands were so cold holding my bins I couldn't hold my pen to write! Oh the sun was shining alright but the wind was deadly. I hope the "Positive Weather Solutions" people are right in their forecasts for a hot summer this year. Personally i think we all deserve it!!
Sorry Chez, I can't help laughing at your vivid ice dancing description!!! I can sympathise however. Our chicken run is a bit of a quagmire too. I've slipped a couple of times (not as elegantly as you though). We really need some sunshine to dry it out. I'm not optimistic though.
Im from Scotland ...................................... Whats a Sun?
lol
AL
If its no fun Yer no doin it right!
I laughed out loud when I read your post!!
I hope you see the sun soon. You'll know it when you do. There will probably be mass hysteria and celebration in the streets..........
Yes I too had to laugh - sorry Al!
I have heard that when the sun comes out in Scotland - so do the midges!!
We are having an egg hunt tomorrow for the grandkids and I have told hem to come in their scruffs and bring their wellies!! Hey ho
Yes they do :)
Look on the bright side - more food for birds!!!
I like to think positively...... therefore
If it isn't snowing it must be summer
LOL
The necessity of bird-watching is a really good reason for avoiding all forms of housework.
The dust will still be there tomorrow - the birds may not be!
