This is a welcoming sight. The first crocuses are showing themselves in my woodland area and I have a few open in my spring meadow (photos in gardening for wildlife, sorry I don't know how to put a link)
I saw a single honey bee testing them yesterday but they are not quite open enough.
Has anybody else got any?
Build it and they will come.
No bees yet but the crocuses are starting to look fantastic, i added a hundred or so to a patch of lawn a couple of years ago and they are now coming through in good numbers. If we get some sunshine with the mild front coming into the UK expect to see more bees on the wing around the crocus patch.
If the bees find them then awesome, if they don't they still give an impressive display of colour at a time when little else is able to bloom. A definite must for any garden i'd say!

A welcome sight indeed - makes you think this weather won't go on much longer

Hi, I have got a few of the orange/yellow crocus just opening and it does lighten you spirits. No bees yet but the weather forcast for here is better tomorrow so I will be keeping my eyes open for them.
I'm always look forward to seeing the wonderful green of the leaf buds coming into life you don't see any other time of year and the first swallow around the 15th April. Spring, Spring Spring.
Hi Wildlife friendly
My are up and just showing flowers, love a bit of colour in the garden.
Hey farmer, farmer, put away the D.D.T now. Give me spots on my apples, but leave me the birds and the bees, please!
Ours have not opened yet ( E. Sussex) but I noticed this morning that the yellow ones around the trees in the village had opened.
Hi Wildlife Friendly
Lovely pictures, and they lift the spirits from all the cold weather we have been getting.
Even the flowers are fightings from their corner.
Love to see more pictures from everyone {big smile}
Brenda: Still have to find out what plants we have in our current garden (moved last July) so time will tell.
Regards
