Hello all, The sun may have come out to play but believe me it was cold. To keep warm I played at trying to get as many in flight shots as I could. here are one or two of the better ones! I still feel cold writing this and days have passed. I think reports of Spring may be premature!
I went in search of a Smew (male) they are there, I see them, but they seem camera shy!

Bar-tailed Godwit

Sanderling.
I also came across a flock of about 100 Fieldfare who made for the trees on seeing me 'there is just no trust in the world anymore'!
Its not like I'm a Banker.
John :-)
For viewing or photography right place right time is everything. I'd rather be in the right place with poor kit than have the best kit and be in the wrong place.
Cracking set of shots there John! You are getting some excellent flight ones!! :-)

Those are brilliant pictures, John. Some excellent flight shots.
Warning! This post contains atrocious spelling, and terrible grammar. Approach with extreme edginess.
Fantastic shots John you've caught them all just perfectly. How far were you when these were taken?

Always look forward to your action shots John. Brilliant photographs.
Superb John. Stunningly sharp and I love the way you have caught the reflections in the water as well.
The necessity of bird-watching is a really good reason for avoiding all forms of housework.
The dust will still be there tomorrow - the birds may not be!
Fantastic set of pics John, thanks so much for showing us. I especially like the godwits and the goosanders.
There is something new to learn everyday...

Wonderful shots John. Spring is always 2 months later in the frozen North. We had some snow today.
