Washington WWT well worth a visit if you are in the area. Lovely tea shop overlooking lake, with cranes and a variety of waterbirds wandering around. Hawthorn wood hide for finches, tits, woodpeckers,siskins etc.Lakeside hides opposite the Heron Colony, riverside hide to see Otter and Kingfisher If you are lucky.A few photos from my trip today

Thanks Sparrow It is a lovely day out and just 10 minutes by car from where we live. I go mainly to practice with my camera. The siskins are only about 2 - 3 feet away from the hide.

It's been a while since I have visited the WWWT, last time I was there we saw the Kingfishers.
You are quite right it is a good day out, an interesting mix of captive wildfowl mixed in with the wild birds.
I think I will put it on my list of return visits.
