After the snow came te inevitable melt and lots of heavy rain too! Paradise field became a lake once more!
Last Saturday, whilst driving back from shopping with my Mum, we spied someone on the bridge with scope & tripod and could see whitish birds... so Sunday morning, I returned to see if they were still about! And they were!! 5 goosanders! 2 males and 3 females!
one female was a bit 'touchy' towards the other male!
Don't have any decent pics of all 5 together! so here are the 4 again! The males were occasionnally showing some aggression towards one another!
Then I spotted a female goldeneye which was a treat!
Also managed my best pic yet of a crow in a nearby tree which seemed quite relaxed with me being there! Obviously knew I couldn't get to him if I tried!
There was also a good amount of Canada geese, some buzzards, black headed gulls and mallards.
Of course, I couldn't resist adding a pic of my beloved hares which I saw on the way there!
The floods have already subsided a fair bit although with the rain today and more forecast for tomorrow, it may not be long before it's a lake again!

Fantastic photograph of the hare. Have isolated and enlarged the hare itself and just love it. Congratulations on the 'request'. Just remember we knew you before you were famous.
Wow, that's a great photo of the hare MarJus. I was asked for my pied and grey wagtail photos but they didn't show those either. I think they could have done with a longer programme!
The necessity of bird-watching is a really good reason for avoiding all forms of housework.
The dust will still be there tomorrow - the birds may not be!
Hi MarJus
Lovely set of pics. I was interested to see the goosanders as never seen one myself. Love the hares - I am going to try to photograph some this year. Fingers crossed!

Wow MarJus and Squirrel - will you ever speak to us again now you are nearly, almost, famous?
The photo of the hare is magnificent.
Cheers, Linda.

Squirrel, if it wasn't enough to have both birds in your garden, you are now recognised for your photography. Well done to both yourself and MarJus. Great pity they didn't show them.
Thanks everyone! Exciting to be asked though wasn't it Squirrel! I must add that I favoured that picture *before* being asked....Lol!!
Good to see you SB!!
Hi MarJus, yes it certainly was exciting - it was also (for me) a shock as they were not posted on either the Autumnwatch site or Flickr!
And Hi everyone else, yes of course I will still be talking to you - as long as you promise faithfully never to tell my wagtails how close they came to fame otherwise they may never talk to me again after my failure to achieve international stardom for them!
