Nature Is Amazing - Let Us Keep It That Way

  • Hiya

Yes I love the program, I did like Bill Oddie and was sorry he couldn't appear last year cos of illness, Hope he gets better soon,  but I quite like Chris, he is very knowledgable and the program is a great form of escapism and entertainment. Kate is very enthusiastic.  Don't mind Martin either - as long as it is only short bursts!! and as for dishy Simon King .... well enough said!!

Definately one of the best progs on TV

  • Hi,

I always look forward to springwatch/autumnwatch I like all the presenters, In their own way they all have something to contribute to the show.

  • I hope the Springwatch forums do not keep being taken over by people moaning about what they don't like about the programs.  We all obviously enjoy nature, just enjoy the nature on the program, ignore anything that irritates or don't watch.  I find nature and wildlife uplifting in times of gloom, but the moaning does put a damper on the enjoyment sometimes.  I want to hear about peoples wildlife encounters, share knowledge, find answers to questions and generally enjoy being part of a 'community'. We all like to have a bit of a moan sometimes, but last year it did all get rather out of hand with personal remarks and criticism.

By the way, does anyone know where Springwatch is based this year.  I was at Pensthorpe a couple of weeks ago, and there was no sign of any 'BBC action'.  Did see a brambling though, which was nice...  :)

I wholeheartedly second that Toadflax! I signed up to the Springwatch forum but didn’t stay there for long as it seemed to be mostly ‘presenter slagging matches’ and moaning about all sorts! That’s why I like it here as everyone prefers to keep to mostly good things and those that aren’t so good are for information only!

Well have to say I love the programme warts and all. Its a pity people are not a little more tolerant - none of us is perfect  and it is not compulsory watch.

  • I love the programme too, I like the fact that it is both informative and quirky- but then I've been a Packham fan since childhood (I'm 36, so childhood was some time ago...)  I remember rushing home from school to see the Really Wild Show on BBC1.  Years earlier, I also remember sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for Wildtracks to come on.  The tune still sticks in my mind.....

    Ah, those were the days.

    I even love magpies

  • Springwatch??? In daylight?

Sounds like an excuse to be  out early and late watching nightjars, honey buzzards, golden orioles etc.

  • I love it, just hope I get to see a bit more of this year because I work most weekday evenings, hopefully it goes on the iplayer!

I think it's great that there are programmes like this on tv and that the presenters are so enthusiastic and knowledgable about wildlife, if it weren't for Spring Watch and Autum Watch there wouldn't be anything along these lines for us to watch so we should all be greatful! And I also think that they get more people enjoying and appreciating wildlife that may not have really been that intressted beforehand!
