I remember seeing a warbler working its way along our back fence and wondering where it was coming from, looked like a young bird so there must be a nest nearby somewhere, not that I'm looking for a nest, just thinking there must be for this / these young birds to be in the area.
Anyway, I decided to take a wander over to the farm yard, I always see birds gathering on a fence and bank not far from the house.
There's a sloping pit off to one side, I don't think it's used any more but that's where I headed for.
First sighting and I only noticed the Tree Sparrow at first. If you look closely, a Whitethroat was on the lower bar!
A young female House Sparrow popped onto the fence by me for a few moments, lots of young birds around.
I took a wander round to the other side of the shed.
There was a young Willow Warbler working its way along the guttering. Really nice to get time to watch and photograph it.
I was standing in among head high weeds by now, incognito they won't know I'm here
A wee Wren popped onto the log pile beside me.
Then the warbler! It had just had a bath in the gutters
Never been so lucky with these elusive wee birds.
I went back around d to the other side again, see what was going on there.
Got a few good close encounters
I was really chuffed to get such good views of the warbler but good shots all round.
I was standing down in the old pit, I guess the birds couldn't see me until they landed on the fence above me.
A grand wee stroll not far from the house, more photos and detail on my blog --->
Nice photo's Scozmos, great one of the warbler having a bath in the gutter
Cheers Snappy, I couldn't believe I was getting to see that
Another vote for the wet warbler. I also like the one below on the guttering very much ...
What a very special day that was Scozmos and beautiful photo captures of them all.
