We returned to Welney, a bit different to last time with a lot of flooding. Still no Bewick Swans and even the Tree Sparrows were hiding...

Another lovely looking day... Has that marsh harrier got the duck, or is it a combination of bad eyes and only on small screen? Thanks for sharing the sunshine Snappy
And we all know how rubbish I am with IDs but is it not a bit big for a cattle egret?

Pretty sure that's a cuckoo, beak is really to thin to be a sparrowhawk
Regards
Benji
Thanks Benji, I prefer a Cuckoo, only seen one once before . It was a lot further away than this one and the photo's were even worse... I can see what you mean regarding the beak, not suitable for a Hawk and we did hear a Cuckoo yesterday.
(Pardon the Scottish Accent)
Thanks Linda, the Spoonbills were a surprise as we have not seen them at Welney before. As for the Cuckoo, I just wish I had known it was a Cuckoo when I took the photo
I had a visit to Welney on Friday, a good assortment of birds to photograph.
