Hi,
as I'm relatively new and wasn't here last spring I have a question.
Do we have / have we had/ is it worth having a message thread where we post in our first returning migrants?

Hi, seymouraves sounds like a good idea, I know I'd find it interesting being new to all this too.

Yes, a good idea! I only joined in August so am not sure either whether this was done previously!

Hello Seymouraves, yep your certainly in the right place - best to start something up here in the "migration" thread such as "first summer migrants records?" It'll be really interesting to see how it unfolds. I wonder if we'll see a pattern of swallows arriving back from south to north? As the community only launched last July it'd be a first for RSPB forums. I know the redwing and fieldfare threads were VERY popular as im sure this topic would also be. If it's not started up by yourself or other users I'll be sure to start a thread myself as and when the spring movements start en mass - not long now! actually it's nearly hometime and it's still light outside hurrah!
Perhaps for us beginners who haven't had a complete year at this, a list of the species we should be looking for would be helpful. Any takers on this?
Cheers, Linda.

Nature Is Amazing - Let Us Keep It That Way
Hi Buzzard,
I knew you'd come up trumps!
Many thanks for this. I have saved the links and will be keeping an eye out.
Thanks
Thanks Buzzard,
I can let you know when the Swallows come to my sister barn, they are in there breeding every year, last year there was four pairs, all had babies.
My sister lives on a farm, she gets Buzzards, owls, swallows, greenwoodpecker, in the lake they get kingfishers on the fields they get coots, pheasants, wagtails, Quails and many more.
Hey farmer, farmer, put away the D.D.T now. Give me spots on my apples, but leave me the birds and the bees, please!
she some time gets the red arrows, yeah the display team!
Hi all
Very good idea people - I for one who is also quite new to other birds outside of my garden would find this a great help. Big thank you to all for suggesting and adding to this thread.
Regards
Kerry
