One lucky bird gets a helping hand on it's migration!

Idemili, a Welsh cuckoo found by member of the public in a Surrey garden in a sorry state after being attacked by other birds has been rehabilitated and is now getting some assistance in it's migration south, read more here.

Interesting to note in the articles that there is no mention of the fact that juvenile cuckoos are still here, many still being fed by their surrogate parents. Please don't worry if you see a young cuckoo in the UK during August and September, it isn't late or left behind, the juveniles always depart a bit later than the adults!
