Hi,
My goldfinches are not only back, but have more than doubled in number.
I had 5 before they did a bunk, and this lunch time I had 12 all feeding at once. I couldn't believe my eyes. They came back again a bit later, so it wasn't a fluke.
Buzzard - are they yours?
Cheers, Linda.

I have got about 10 that have been here eating niger seeds voraciously since last spring. I live in central London, is this rare or have any other city dwellers got goldies?
Hi Birdlady, Welcome to the forum. I live near Birmingham & they are here & in Birmingham centre too. I think they are becoming more popular due to people providing nyger seed.
Hi Birdlady, and welcome to the forum.
I can't answer your question I'm afraid, but I'm glad to see you have 10. Such pretty birds.
Hi Birdlady and welcome to the RSPB Forum
We have had never them around in our current garden yet,
They just do not like the feeders. Maybe someone is giving the what they want over the garden fence so to speak.
I will keep a little prayer going for them to visit here
One is just enough to make me happy
Regards
Kathy and Dave
Hi Birdlady and welcome. You haven't nicked some of Buzzard's have you? LOL p.s. We have a wicked sense of humour when it comes to goldfinches - whether AWOL or present.
The necessity of bird-watching is a really good reason for avoiding all forms of housework.
The dust will still be there tomorrow - the birds may not be!
