Hi,
Anyone know any news of swallows in south yorkshire yet?
Thanks
At last we have a decent number of swifts around here, and today they were feeding over the Thames, as it's finally warm enough for the flies to start hatching from the river in numbers
:-)
Seriously thinking about trying harder!
Yeah sorry I meant yours Alan. Lovely photos and looks a lovely location.
We now have two nesting pairs of swallows within a quarter mile stretch of the Thames at Kingston - our sailing club has just been picked by a pair which are re-using an old nest up in the rafters of the storage area. They can fly in and out at any time because it's open to the air at the water side.
Still have the other pair nesting under Turks pleasure boat pier.
I saw my first swifts of the year today - 3 or 4 swooping and screaming over the residential roads in Romford. I'm always pleased to see them.
Wall to wall Swifts at Otmoor today and nearly as many Hobbies it seemed. One of each in the photo (shot somehow through the reeds).
Every day a little more irate about bird of prey persecution, and I have a cat - Got a problem with that?
