AndrewA April 17th Norwich - thats my prediction for a summer migrant.
Of course :-)
No idea why though in 40+ years the old summer plumage has never done me much good :-)

Wheatear , Sand Martin , and Chiffchaff have also been seen up north on the Wirral this month. Expecting the first sightings of Whitethroats and Grasshopper Warblers any day now.

I've been keeping an eye on the Portland Bird Observatory blog and interestingly their first wheatear was on 7/3/12 and things have been pretty slow there apparently with trickles of chiffchaff, wheatear, sand martin and the odd other migrant thrown in. One to keep a watch of as it's a good barometer of what is arriving elsewhere along the south coast.
Very worrying with regards to that report of the dead passerines caught up in the Saharan storm, we'll have to wait and see if this has any serious repercussions.

Pretty quite here at the moment, just the odd trickle although I am sure I hear swallows the other day but could not spot anything
