I have been hearing Chiffchaff for a few weeks now, but today I heard lots of Willow Warbler up on the Bowland Fells in Lancashire. I managed to catch one of them, as well as a Meadow Pipit who just wouldn't turn round.
There are 9000 species of bird on earth. Let's keep it that way.

Nice that the willow warblers have arrived. Are you sure that's what you've taken in the first photo. The bill and tail look a bit finchy to me.

I can understand what you mean Teejay, and i might agree with you except that I heard it singing, and as I am sure you will agree, the song of the Willow Warbler is quiet distinctive.
Willow Warblers have just arrived up here too. Heard first one this morning when taking dog for her first walk. Lovely sound.

Spent the last 3 days around our local moors and Willow Warblers were back in force as well as Chiffchaffs.Our best find was 2 male Pied Flycatchers today in Nidderdale
