Can anyone please tell me how long Bramblings stay in Britain before migrating, as I still have quite a healthy number feeding in my garden (30 March, 2011). From none three years ago the numbers have grown to up to as many as 12 at one sitting on the feeders. Some have had rings, majority don't. Do they actually stay and nest in Britain? And no, they are definately not Chaffinches. I live in the Lancashire area.
Hi Robert
There was thread about this only a few days ago. Probably easier for you to read it rather than I relate what it said.

Thanks TeeJay, Good of you to reply so promptly. It seems the world and his dog have Bramblings in their garden. Just hope they stay a little longer.

I still have bramblings in my garden.
It's always worth having a look at any of the RSPB Birds by Name web-pages, as they give a lot of information about migration and breeding pairs.
Here is the page for Brambling, and it suggests that they are only here through the winter season but occasional birds might stay until May or even later.
Best wishes Chris
