3 Sand Martins over Martin Mere WWT and a Northern Wheatear spotted.

  • We both heard a chiffchaff calling yesterday at Woolhampton Gravel pits. Sadly, we didn't manage a photo as we couldn't pinpoint where it was.

According to the idents. on my WGP thread, I photographed 2 female stonechats yesterday, but there were several more that I failed to shoot:

  • Hi Seymour

I forgot to mention that we saw a slightly unusual summer visitor yesterday at Woolhampton Gravel pits, it was a brimstone butterfly flying backwards and forwards along the riverbank opposite where we sat watching the kingfisher.

It's the first butterfly I have seen this year

    Best wishes Chris
